1st Grade Grade Match Report / North’s vs East’s

East’s were pushing for finals position on the weekend and we felt we had something to prove after the narrow loss last week to Logan who are second on the ladder. This was Nathan Watts last game for some time with us as he is off to the UK to play. Nathan has come through the colts with the club and gives his all every week. We as a group decided to make the game personal for Nathan and the team. The win of 16-6 was built around the teams belief in each other in defence. The centres Ralph Susave and Michael Concarr were rock solid and Lance led the way up front. Our scoring opportunities came from turnover ball and was clinical.

Well what a great win for 1st division, congratulations to coach Wayne Hansen and co-coach the old warhorse Dan Thompson, who nearly scored a try only to be pulled up short of the line. Thommo you are a great role model too the young blokes coming through, Charles had an outstanding game leading a very gutsy pack.

This helped our backline perform with Ralph potting some great conversions, all I can say is, it was a team effort with everyone contributing. Big thank you to Trent, Jared, Dom and James for stepping up and playing for us. Each and everyone of you can hold your head up high, finishing the season the way you are, and I'm very proud to be part of it.
