Membership

When you sign up to play football with North Brisbane Rugby Club, you will be required to become a member of the Kedron-Wavell Services Club (KWSC). This is part of our deal with Shawsportz the organisation that manages our complex at Shaw Rd. Membership of the Services Club gives you automatic membership to Shawsportz.

Shawsportz Ltd holds a unique position in Brisbane's sporting community. It is an association supported by KWSC which leases three sporting precincts from the Brisbane City Council. These are Shaw Park and Shaw Estate (rugby union, touch football, cricket, beach volleyball and hockey), Burringbar Park at Chermside (turf hockey fields) and O'Callaghan Park in Zillmere (soccer, baseball and Australian football). It is the responsibility of Shawsportz to work with the North Rugby Club to manage the fields and surrounding facilities. We pay an annual fee to Shawsportz for this servcice.

The North Rugby Club Committee is working hard to Partner Shawsportz to develop our facilities and obtain the best we can for our players, spectators, sponsors and rugby lovers. Your support of both Shawsportz and KWSC will help us all achieve the goals we have set for this year and beyond.

Shawsportz Limited: Conditions of Entry

The set dress regulations apply to all person entering the licensed club: At the very minimum, patrons are required to wear a t-shirt, shorts and footwear.

Under no circumstances is BYO alcohol permitted to be brought onto the facility. All alcohol must be consumed in the licensed areas and be purchased from the clubs bar.

The consumption of alcohol beyond the brick fence in front of the clubhouse is strictly prohibited. Alcohol cannot be consumed on the playing fields, grassed areas or any place other than the licensed area.

The removal of alcohol from licensed premises (other than from a 'take-away' outlet) is a liquor licensing offence. All alcohol purchased from the bar must be consumed on the premises.

Persons deemed intoxicated shall not be permitted entry into the club. Shawsportz Limited management and staff reserve the right to refuse service to intoxicated persons.

Patrons under 25 years of age intending to purchase or consume alcohol should be prepared to present adequate proof of age documentation. Failure to do so may result in refusal of service.

Under no circumstances can persons under the age of 18 purchase tobacco products. Proof of age identification may be required.

Smoking is strictly prohibited except for in the Designated Outside Smoking area.

All statutory regulations, including liquor licensing, tobacco and criminal laws must be adhered to at all times by patrons on Shawsportz premises. Failure to adhere to this lawful requirement may result in refusal of entry and could lead to the police being contacted and subsequent membership disqualification.

Code of conduct:

Did you know? Persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and by supervised by that adult at all times whilst on Shawsportz premises. This is a legal requirement and a condition of entry to the club.

Inappropriate, abusive or threatening verbal, physical or behaviours towards other patrons, or Shawsportz limited management and staff members shall not be tolerated at any time. persons in breach of this condition may be asked to vacate the club and may have their membership to Shawsportz suspended.
